How long can the 5V/1A ancestral "slow charge" last?

Why is the iPhone not charging fast? We think it encounters the following two difficulties.
1. Bottlenecks in the development of materials and energy density
Fast charging is actually a compromise technique, and the biggest compromise is the battery material. The development of battery technology is slow, and the biggest obstacle to development lies in materials. Lithium polymer materials, which are widely used at present, have also reached the bottleneck.
